I had the Magic Keyboard for my last iPad and while it's nice, it could never come close to replacing my Macbook and the weight and bulk of it made it larger than a MacBook too, too heavy to justify travelling with. The outer material is also awful, it picks up dirt and oil and is impossible to keep clean, the corners also start to fray after a few months, that's disappointing considering the price. Just a thought, if someone is trying to choose between an iPad or a Macbook, you can buy both a 13" MacBook M1 and a 12.9" iPad Pro M1 and still have money left over for a weekend away somewhere! - while the M4 iPad is incredible, it's a bit of a tough sell considering an M1 is 1/3 the price now and in certain ways better (better speakers and more durable) - performance wise, you'd be hard pressed to feel a difference and the miniLED ProMotion display holds up well (it's MUCH nicer than the iPad Air display).

I just can't believe there aren't erasable notebooks with music staves already printed in, I will have to do it myself with a notebook with empty pages... I was wondering what to use, because sharpies might get erased with friction after a while too, but if you say it works perfectly, I take you for your word.

How do you go back to a document you “saved” and add notes to it?

I have the reMarkable2 and the Scribe and since the latest update, the Scribe is really close. I love the backlight and the hardware is more modern, it's a bit snappier, especially in larger PDFs, and they now added the ability to have a custom template on a per page basis in notebooks and for me now the only thing missing is being able to access my PDF annotations from other devices to be an RM2 killer, at less than half the price on the frequent sales.

Will this work to accurately transcribe fast auditory lectures in the college/university classroom that is the main teaching method by a lot of instructors into text word for word? Will this accurately transcribe video lectures and video tutorials into text word for word? I am asking these two questions as an autistic woman diagnosed with five other disabilities outside of autism, who cannot listen and take my own written notes because of another disability known as an auditory processing disorder (APD), specifically an integration disorder mostly in a weak auditory working memory meaning I have problems learning with information that is presented in both auditory and visual ways together along with not being able to hold a lot of auditory (spoken) information in the brain long enough to do anything with.

This was used as GHB in Sweden during the early 2000s

I judt dont like that the freewrite does not allow editing and is overpriced. It's just a laptop without the internet and one program. For that, I just get a laptop or a tablet. overrated.

Just got my rM 2 yesterday! It says my version 3.11.2.5 is "up to date." Just found out how to be a beta tester. How long usually from beta to full release? Also want to set up a second brain PARA system, so eagerly awaiting!

Update 3.12 was a bad update. The "creative shortcut" didn't add any new functionality, and actually added MORE keystrokes necessary to create new notebooks and search. The New Notebook/New Folder/Search tabs used to display atop My Files by default. Now you need to select the new search/x logo to get those menus. And the new search/x button obscures the thumbnails. Instead of making workflow more worse, the Remarkable team should release substantive, real updates. Meaningful text formatting, margin settings and 8.5x 11" printed page settings when using TypeFolio, for example. How about the ability to type on a pdf? Or functional hyperlinks to the web? Or even in-document hyperlinks like the other tablets? So much potential and wasted opportunity with this beautiful device!

With the IPad M4 - 13” do you find yourself taking more notes and using it in Tablet Mode more because it is is lighter I had the Remarkable 2 and loved it but returned because I found it not to be as “ connected” when researching (clips from website ps etc. the IPad has them beat but the writing feel of the Remarkable can’t be beat….

You also can’t record calls with a built-in recorder, so this device offers more value. Very cool.

What a neat device. I admit that I grew up extremely pleased with the information my brain could hold and how I could process that information. Now, I am at a point that I can't expect my brain to hold everything from the things I enjoy like quantum physics to the practical things I do around teaching and my business. Time is becoming much more important than almost anything else. So seeing this vid makes me think. I do admit that I am an early adopter of most tech...but not AI so I will have to wrestle with that a bit more. Those Terminator "documentaries" really did a number on me. Lol

Thank you for going over how to add the notes to Remarkable. One question for you have you tried using the PLAUD with Apple CarPlay?

So... I just lost my remarkable stylus. What is the best replacement stylus that has a magnet? or alternatively what is the best one that has a pocket clip. I am used to using Molskein notebooks with a rollerball pen I could clip on the cover. Way more secure than the magnet.

I see you have a remarkable. Can you copy the transcript to a pdf and move on to your remarkable?

Why is the video so choppy looking on the motion? Typically they look a million times better, what is wrong there?

I use a good old fasioned typewriter. There's something about holding and filing a physical document that makes writing so much more rewarding and refreshing. I toyed with getting one of these machines, and decided that if you really want to get back to reality, you have to do it the old way. All documents can easily be scanned and converted to digital text if you want to edit with less hassle. My favorite machine at the moment is a Smith Corona Clipper (portable model), with a fully restored platen from JJ short. It works like new. We'll never see that kind of quality in our devices again. They made them to last for generations.

I have both now and I’m having the same issue lol. Trying to avoid buying the paper screen and just use the remarkable for planning and the M4 for everything else.

Is there any chance that anyone knows how to factory reset the Papyr without unlocking it? I've forgotten the password. :(

I am currently confused between the King and Noris Jumbo. I am planning to do lot of sketching as well on my RM2 so...which would you recommend? price wise, Noris is 20$ cheaper here in Australia

Super excited about this, was diagnosed with epilepsy two years ago and had to stop drinking some of my favorite alcoholic beverages due to my meds. I’m definitely gonna look into this.
